I was part of the Pink Sparrow scenic team during the painting of this intricate miniature garden diorama. A footbridge, lantern stand, rocks, and model koi fish were all painted with the cherry blossom pattern found on the can of Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng.
Consistency was key. So, every member of the paint team made multiple samples before touching the final items. This allowed us to develop a consensus on things like brushstroke style, blending techniques, and color distribution. By the time we laid hands on the final items, we were all on the same page.
We did the painting in stages. We pounced the design outline onto the items, then blocked out the colors before adding each layer of detail.
